In Santa Clarita there is a little farm that means so much to both humans and animals. Unlike a farm, The Gentle Barn is a safe haven and rescue facility for abused and injured farm animals, such as cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and more. But, this is not just a place where animals can feel safe, The Gentle Barn passes its compassion on to humans, specifically children, by sharing the animals’ stories and allowing kids to bond with them. Their mission is to ensure a more peaceful world by fostering empathy in the next generation.
Though The Gentle Barn focuses on school groups, group homes and mental health care facilities, families are welcome to visit on Sundays, or book a private tour to avoid the crowds. When you and your family visit the facility you can expect to groom the horses, pat a goat and hug a cow. The interaction allowed between human and animal can be such a uniquely relaxing experience. The Gentle Barn does ask that you refrain from bringing any animal products to the farm including milk, meat and eggs, out of respect for the animal residents.
Pack the whole family in a 2013 GL350 BlueTEC SUV from Mercedes-Benz of Encino, which will provide a perfect balance of comfort and performance to make sure you reach your destination safely, but also in style.
