Motorcyclist, 40, Killed In Costa Mesa Crash

COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com)  — A 40-year-old motorcycle rider was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash in Costa Mesa.

The unidentified male, a resident of Huntington Beach, was going east in the number two lane of Adams Avenue just past Royal Palm Drive at about 3:55 p.m., when a 2005 Honda Civic, facing west, turned left to enter a driveway near a Souplantation.

The cyclist crashed into the passenger side of the Civic, driven by Sandra Foley, 62, of Costa Mesa.

The motorcyclist, riding a 2011 Kawasaki ZX, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators questioned Foley who they said did not appear impaired by either alcohol or drugs. She was later released.

The crash is under investigation.

Witnesses are asked to call Traffic Investigator Darren Wood at (714) 754-5624.
