The vehicle was found in a public park in the 1000 block of Etiwanda Street in Rialto, about six miles from his home on Beechcraft Avenue.
Neighbors report that the neighborhood is normally peaceful and the park, where Padilla’s remains were found, is known as a family-friendly area.
“It’s a nice family neighborhood,” Rialto resident Edgar Samperio said, “Makes no sense, really.”READ MORE: COVID-19 Vaccination Rates Among LAPD And LAFD Well Behind County Residents
Padilla, a father of two, was reportedly heading to work when the kidnapping ensued.
Investigators suggest that Padilla may have tried to fight off the assailants, as evidence of a bloody struggle was found in his driveway.
Residents and authorities alike are now hoping to find answers through a number of security cameras, which are set up at the park.
Police, however, are not saying what, if any, video they were able to get from the cameras.MORE NEWS: Pursuit Suspect Attacks CHP Officers In Simi Valley
