Colton Man, 26, Held In Death Of Baby Found With Possible Head Trauma

COLTON (CBSLA.com) — Police announced the arrest Thursday of a Colton man accused in the death of a 10-month-old baby found with head trauma.

Officials were dispatched to the 2100 block of North Rancho Avenue on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m.

They were responding to a baby not breathing call.

Authorities arrived at the apartment and found the unidentified baby with possible head trauma.

The child was rushed to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.

The baby boy was declared dead Wednesday.

Police on Thursday questioned and detained Manuel Anthony Madrid, 26.

His relationship to the child was not given.

Madrid was arrested for murder and booked into the San Bernardino County Jail.
