Man, 26, Facing Multiple Charges After 1 Dead, 2 Injured In Moreno Valley DUI Collision

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old Moreno Valley man has been taken into custody after one person died and two others suffered major injuries in a DUI-related crash Tuesday night.

Officers responded the the scene at Cactus Avenue and Joy Street at 11:48 p.m. after receiving a report of a major traffic collision.

First-responders found that a silver Infinity G35, driven by Luis Navarro, had rear-ended a gray Toyota Tacoma while both vehicles traveled east on Cactus Avenue.

According to a coroner's report, the driver of the Tacoma lost control and struck a street signpost.

The vehicle's three occupants sustained major injuries and were transported to the Riverside Community Regional Medical Center, where one of the passengers, 45-year-old Moreno Valley resident Ana Estrada, was pronounced dead.

The eastbound lanes of Cactus Avenue remained closed for approximately six hours while members of the Moreno Valley Police Department's Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team conducted their investigation.
