Police Hunt Armed Robber Who Allegedly Stole $10K Worth Of Cell Phones
MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police in Manhattan Beach are asking the public to help them locate an armed robber who stole more than $10,000 worth of cell phones from an electronics store.
The robbery occurred at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at a Radio Shack located at 1908 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach police Det. Michael Rosenberger said.
The suspect reportedly pulled a gun on a store employee and demanded all the store's Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones. Rosenberger said there were about 30 such phones on the premises valued at more than $10,000.
He fled in an older model silver BMW328i with faded paint and possible black rims.
He was described as a black man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and possible acne scarring on his face. He wore a gray hoodie, dark sweat pants and brown shoes. He also had a black backpack and a duffel bag in which to carry the phones.
