The incident happened around 1:35 p.m. outside a residence near Indian Street and Webster Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The unidentified victim allegedly ran to a nearby home and told the neighbors he had been attacked by a 22-year-old man. He was then taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in grave condition.

Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter in the search for the suspect, whose house in the 24500 block of Webster was reportedly unoccupied.
