Man, 21, Shot To Death While Behind The Wheel In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com)  — A 21-year-old man was shot to death Friday while he was driving in Arlington Heights.

The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. near Venice Boulevard and 12th Street.

Police said the victim and another man were seen arguing near the parking lot of a 7-Eleven.

"The victim and the suspect met in the area of the 7-Eleven and apparently an argument ensued. The victim quickly went to his vehicle, started driving away, and as he drove away, he was shot at," said Capt. Lillian Carranza of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The unidentified victim's vehicle then crashed into a two-story apartment complex.

The suspect fled the area. He is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen in a silver Nissan Armada.

Investigators said security cameras captured part of the altercation. They're asking for the public's help to provide them with as much information as possible.

"This individual was only 21 years old. I'm sure he was a very loved individual by his family, his mother and other family members. This is not the type of thing we tolerate or want to see happen in the streets of Los Angeles," said Carranza.

Anyone with information about the crime was encouraged to contact homicide detectives at (213) 382-9370.
