3 Arrested After LADOT Officer Attacked Near Dodger Stadium

ELYSIAN PARK (CBSLA.com) — Three men are under arrest after a violent attack on a L.A. traffic officer near Dodger Stadium Thursday night.

LAPD Sgt. Chris Carson told KCAL9's Rachel Kim two officers were directing traffic at the intersection of Elysian Park and Sunset before a game when a group of six tagged a LADOT vehicle and got into an altercation with one of the officers for an unknown reason.

The suspects fled the scene but investigators said they tracked down three of the six, one of whom they say is a juvenile.

"They were positively ID'd. One of the victims actually had photographs of them all at the time they were doing this so we're going to have to sort out exactly what we have and probably charge one or both of them with vandalism and/or assault and battery," Carson said.

The extent of the officer's injuries were not known at press time.

Police are investigating whether the suspects have any gang affiliation.
