Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 9)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Muggy night...but the hot weather wanes tomorrow and the rest of the week.  Warmer again by the weekend and next week.

After a very warm start to the work week...things are cooling down a bit.  The ridge of high pressure that spread out into Southern California, is now retreating back to the east.  We are catching a little monsoonal moisture this evening...that has brought up our dewpoints and made it feel sticky.  But you shouldn't have to worry about that surge until the weekend.  The weakening high pressure will help the marine layer to reform tonight...and bring our temperatures back just a bit.  The next few days will be slightly below average, but by Friday the high starts to build back in.   We will be back into the 90s and 100s over the weekend...with even warmer temperatures for Mon, Tue, and Wed.  Then you can expect more cooling late next week.  So it is definitely a roller coaster ride as we flirt with the heat over the next 10 days.

Tomorrow
Basin - mid 80s
Beaches - mid 70s
Valleys - upper 90s
Mountains - low 80s
Deserts - low 100s
