Bear Found In Vacant Home In Bradbury Refuses To Be Scared Off

BRADBURY (CBSLA.com) — Temple Station deputies responded to a call Sunday morning regarding a bear roaming around a vacant home.

The home is located in the 200 block of Barranca Road.

Deputies attempted to scare the large (estimated to be between 250-300 pounds) bear from the house around 10:40 a.m.

Officials describe the bear as being "not amused."

After their attempt to scare the bear didn't yield the desired result, officials contacted the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

When animal experts arrived they determined the bear was injured or sick.

The bear walked out of the house on his own and was shot with tranquilizing darts -- it took three in all to bring him down.

The dozy bear was ultimately taken to an animal hospital for treatment.

No word on his present condition.
