Kid-Friendly Music Festival Lightning In A Bottle Brings Coachella Feel To Temecula
If the music festival Coachella and Burning Man, the week of self-expression in the desert, had a love child, it would obviously be Lightning in a Bottle.
That makes sense because The Do LaB, which has staged LiB for more than a decade in various places around Southern California, has a big presence in both aforementioned events. And yet, LiB is their baby, and what sets it apart is it's uniquely Southern Californian balance of well-curated musical talent, inner consciousness and art. Plus, the festival is all-ages, and children are truly welcome, no matter what age.
At the four-night, five-day festival, attendees will enjoy music from local acts (KCRW DJ Jason Bentley) to international bands (The Purity Ring!); workshops on sustainability and spirituality; yoga and poi-spinning classes; hula-hooping; kid-friendly entertainment (clowns on stilts!) and art for everyone.
This year the festival moved to Lake Skinner in Temecula, bringing an even cooler vibe to the Inland Empire's wine country.
The festival also gets props for its sustainability practices; for three years in a row, LiB has won the Outstanding Greener Festival Award from A Greener Festival, a not-for-profit company committed to helping music and arts events and festivals around the world adopt environmentally efficient practices.
Tickets for Lightning in a Bottle start at $90 for a Sunday pass, and children 12 and under are free. Bus passes to the festival can also be purchased online.
