Man, 35, Stabbed In Lungs, Heart With Screwdriver

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man was stabbed multiple times with a screwdriver outside his South Los Angeles home.

Los Angeles police Sgt. Angela McGee says the stabbing occurred at 5:10 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of 62nd Street.

"The 35-year-old victim was stabbed in the heart, left lung, and right lung," McGee said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition, according to McGee. He is expected to survive.

The suspected stabber fled the scene.

No further information was available.
