SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday continued to investigate the cause of a fast-moving brush fire in San Bernardino County.
The so-called Mills Fire broke out around 2:15 p.m. Friday near Mill Creek Road, prompting evacuation orders for dozens of homes. Residents have since been allowed to return home.
The fire scorched at least 350 acres in parts of Redlands, Mentone, and Yucaipa. At one point, flames burned dangerously close to structures and damaged one home.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) says the fire was 20 percent contained as of Saturday morning.
