LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding an in-custody death of a woman in Long Beach.

“The female was arrested on June 27, 2013, at approximately 2:35 p.m., at Long Beach Police Headquarters,” a statement issued by the Long Beach Police Department said. “During a routine warrant check, officers discovered she had outstanding misdemeanor warrants and was taken into custody.”
The death marked the third to occur in the past two months while a person was in the custody of the Long Beach Police Department. Last month, a man died after going into medical distress. The statement said the death is under investigation by the department’s homicide detectives and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office as is the case in all instances of in-custody deaths.
