Report: LAUSD Board Member Faces Harassment, Intimidation Probe

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Unified board member is under investigation by the district for alleged sexual harassment and employee intimidation, according to a report released Thursday.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reports an outside law firm has been hired to look into charges against Dr. Richard Vladovic, who has been on the board since 2007.

Report: LAUSD Board Member Faces Harassment, Intimidation Probe

Some LAUSD employees say 68-year-old Vladovic would threaten their jobs and sexually harass them, according to the Daily News. A male and a female employee have each reportedly filed a formal complaint against Vladovic.

Vladovic, whom some have reportedly called "Dr. Death", is also accused of coercing people to hire and fire employees.

His name was first mentioned in employee interviews during a molestation investigation of a fourth-grade teacher, according to the Daily News.

Both the LAUSD and Vladovic refused to comment on the report.

Vladovic has denied the accusations and said he welcomes the investigation because he believes he'll be exonerated quickly.

Elected to the Seventh District seat in 2007, Vladovic has worked as a teacher and principal in the district since the late 1960s before being named superintendent of the West Covina Unified School District in 2003.
