2 Arrested, 1 Suspect At Large Following Deadly Shooting In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Two people were arrested and a third suspect remained at large Monday in connection with the murder of a Gardena man, according to Redondo Beach Police.

Authorities said Erick Julian Ortega, 27, is wanted in connection with the murder of Bobby Darren Reynolds, 38.

A husband and father, Reynolds was reportedly waiting for his children to return to a relative's home around 8p.m. on Friday when he was shot at close range in the 2400 block of Ralston Lane. He was treated at the scene and subsequently taken to Harbor General Hospital, where he died.

Police have been searching for Ortega since Friday night after his Chrysler 300 was used as a getaway car in the shooting. He reportedly has prior arrests for drug and robbery offenses.

Ortega is considered armed and dangerous, police said Monday.

Eduardo Antonio Losa, 42, was arrested for the murder of Bobby Reynolds. Police said Losa has a substantial criminal record and is a member of the same Redondo Beach-area gang as Ortega.

Shelby Ann Johnston, Losa's girlfriend, was arrested as an accessory to murder. Johnston and Losa reportedly live together in Lomita.

Redondo Beach Police said Friday that Reynolds appeared to be targeted in the shooting, though they did not know of anything in his past that would make him a target.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Redondo Beach Police Department at (310) 379-2477.
