Probe Continues After Deputy-Involved Shooting In Westmont

WESTMONT (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting in Westmont.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department statement says one suspect was wounded in the shooting in the 1300 block of 102nd Street Friday evening.

Two other suspects remain outstanding.

The shooting followed a chase that ended as the suspect vehicle crashed.

"As the right front passenger exited the vehicle he produced a handgun, pointed it at the deputies, and a deputy involved shooting occurred," the statement said.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.

Investigators say a handgun was recovered at the scene.

No deputies were wounded.
