Man Remains 'Extremely Critical' Following Compton Shooting

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A man remains "extremely critical" following a shooting on a Compton street Friday afternoon.

Initial reports said the victim -- a 21 year-old Compton man -- was killed and a friend wounded.

Authorities said Saturday the victim was struck multiple times and "extremely critical" and that the friend was not hit by gunfire.

Just before 3:05 Friday, the two friends were walking on the 600 block of West Peach Street when they were fired on by an unknown occupant of a pickup truck that was driving by.

The investigation is on going.

There is no further information available at this time.
