Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 21)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Look for a pleasant close to this work week, temperatures will hover near seasonal averages.

We should have mostly sunny skies this morning and throughout the day.  You can expect a slight bump in temps from yesterday by 1 or 2 degrees.

Gusty winds will probably develop again in the high desert by this evening.  The trough that has been stationed along the west coast will deepen as we make our way through the weekend.  This will translate into a thicker marine layer and cooler temperatures.

A short wave pushes through Monday and that will break up the low clouds.  Then we have a big change in the weather as the semi-permanent ridge of high pressure in the four corner states expands.  That means hot weather may be headed our way by the end of next week.

This also pulls up the monsoonal flow so stay tuned!

Basin - mid to upper 70s

Beaches - low to mid 70s

Valleys - upper 80s to near 90

Mountains - mid 70s

Deserts - upper 80s to low 90s
