'Drug Paraphernalia' Reported As Pipe Bomb In Mid-City

MID CITY (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department Wednesday responded to a report of a pipe bomb in the Mid-City area.

The LAPD bomb squad responded to a report called in by FBI agents at 7:40 a.m. in the 5100 block of Washington Boulevard, according to police.

The agency reportedly found what appeared to be a pipe bomb while they were serving a search warrant as part of a joint operation with agents from the San Diego bureau.

The object was later determined to be drug paraphernalia.

The bomb squad remained on scene.
