Chiropractor Gets Jail Time For Sexual Assault On Female Patient
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 65-year-old chiropractor was sentenced to a year behind bars after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a female patient in his Irvine office.
Dennis Scott Durbin of Costa Mesa was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and agreed to have his chiropractor license revoked. He will also be given three years of formal probation.
Prosecutors said Durbin's 28-year-old victim first received chiropractic treatment for an injured knee back in 2011.
When she returned to Sky Park Chiropractic for more treatment, prosecutors said Durbin offered her a massage as part of her therapy session. That was back in July 2012.
Prosecutors say Durbin touched the patient inappropriately the following month.
