Van Nuys Man Indicted In Federal Child Pornography Case

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Van Nuys man was indicted Tuesday for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Steve Golden, 36, was arrested May 30 and was charged in a criminal complaint filed in federal court the following day, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Golden reportedly received inappropriate DVDs through the mail and was in possession of lewd materials involving children that he downloaded from the Internet.

Postal inspectors later searched his home and found 3,000 images and videos of child pornography, according to the indictment.

Golden reportedly admitted he may have sexually molested children and would invite young girls into his apartment.

Golden, who is jailed without bond, is expected to be arraigned June 20.

If convicted, he faces between five and 30 years in federal prison.
