Bear Subdued After Sighting On Granada Hills Golf Course

GRANADA HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday subdued a bear that was spotted roaming the golf course at Knollwood Country Club.

Police received a call about the bear, which was seen running on the fairway, at 1 p.m., according to the LAPD's Devonshire Division.

Officers formed a perimeter along the golf course near McLennan Avenue while they waited for officials with the Department of Fish and Wildlife to arrive.

Shortly after 2 p.m., authorities shot the animal with a tranquilizer gun, according to SKY9's Derek Bell.

There were an unspecified number of golfers on the course at the time of the sighting.
