2 Men Arrested After Authorities Seize 400 Marijuana Plants From Eastvale Grow Facility

EASTVALE (CBSLA.com) — Two men in their early twenties are in jail after authorities seized more than 400 marijuana plants from a grow facility in Eastvale investigators say they were operating.

Tony On, 20, and Michael Binh Ta, 21, were taken into custody Wednesday after Riverside County sheriff's officials shut down the indoor pot-growing operation at a two-story home in the 5700 block of Cario Court.

Sgt. Justin Rowan said told City News Service they received a tip about the operation and obtained a search warrant executed Wednesday afternoon.

Rowan said in addition to the plants half a pound of processed marijuana was also seized.

On and Ta, both of Garden Grove, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, conspiracy and grand theft of utility services. Ta was also arrested for parole violations.

Both men are accused of stealing an estimated $2,500 a month in electricity by re-routing circuits and rigging lines to enable the operation.

Ta is being held at the Smith Correctional Facility without bail.

On is being held at the same facility in lieu of $20,000 bail.
