Holiday Weekend DUI Crackdown Nets Hundreds Of Arrests

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday said a holiday weekend crackdown on drunk driving has resulted in a "significant" number of arrests in Los Angeles County.

Initial reports from officers from 100 county law enforcement agencies show that 332 arrests were made from 12:01 a.m. Friday through midnight Saturday.

Authorities stressed that the number of arrests was preliminary as not all of the agencies involved in the "Avoid the 100" Los Angeles County DUI Campaign have reported their totals.

The number also does not include a tally from the California Highway Patrol.

Arrest data collection is expected to continue through midnight Monday, officials said.
