What’s better than watching Sesame Street on repeat every single day of your 2-year-old’s life and memorizing “la-la-la-la” Elmo’s song? Seeing the lovable furry cast of characters sing and dance in person, of course!
“Can’t Stop Singing,” Sesame Street Live’s newest and latest show, features Broadway-caliber song and dance numbers for the under-5 set. Abby Cadabby, Ernie and Bert and Cookie Monster will all be life-sized and about 6-feet-tall, and the show, set against the storyline of Elmo getting his hands on Abby Cadabby’s wand and discovering unexpected life lessons as a result, will be a fun-filled learning experience by way of a singalong.READ MORE: Family Members And Loved Ones Gather To Remember 10-Year-Old Anthony Avalos Who Would Have Been 13 This Week
There will be lots of opportunities for audience participation; kids will learn about highs and lows from Grover and Baby Bear; fast and slow singing from Cookie Monster. Kids will also learn about why it feels good to sing, but why it feels good to stop, too. (By the end, even adults will want to know what Elmo discovers about the power of magic. And did we mention that the musical also features parodies of adult songs, such as “Shout” and “You Can’t Stop the Music?”)
Kids will be able to interact with the characters on the audience floor, but there will also be a pre-show play zone where kids can have photo ops with the characters. If you want your kid to meet Elmo, Sunny Seat packages — which include VIP seats and a pre-show Meet & Greet with Elmo and another Sesame Street Live friends — are available.
