Lockdown Lifted At Tarzana School After Ventura Blvd. Bank Robbery

TARZANA (CBSLA.com) — A lockdown at a San Fernando Valley elementary school was lifted Thursday following a robbery at a nearby bank, authorities said.

Tarzana Elementary was initially put on lockdown after two suspects robbed a Citibank branch along the 19000 block of Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills at around 10:17 a.m., according to police and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

A police perimeter was set up immediately surrounding the location near the 101 Freeway and Tampa Avenue following a brief pursuit, the LAPD said.

The lock down was lifted at 12:30 p.m., LAUSD officials said.

Traffic was being diverted from the area, authorities said.

It was unclear how many suspects police were searching for.
