Deputy Injured, Suspect Killed In Compton Shooting

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was fatally injured and a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy sustained a non-life threatening injury during a shooting Thursday night.

Shots were fired at the intersection of North Bradfield Avenue and East Palmer Street at approximately 7:24 p.m. after the suspect reportedly pointed a gun at officers during a chase, according to the Associated Press.

The male suspect was treated at the location for a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital.

The identity of the deputy, possibly wounded from an altercation with the suspect, has not yet been released.
