Man, 30, Pulled From Burning Truck After Gas Tank Punctured In Crash

POMONA (CBSLA.com) —  Police rescued an unconscious man from the wreckage of a pick-up truck engulfed in flames Wednesday.

Thirty-year-old Brallan Sedano, of La Puente, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet motor vehicle when he was involved in a collision on in the 700 block of East Holt Boulevard in Pomona at approximately 11 a.m., according to local authorities.

The crash punctured the truck's gas tank.

Two Pomona police officers arrived to the scene to find the truck bed on fire and flames spreading into the cab. Smoke filling the compartment prevented first responders from seeing if anyone was in the vehicle.

Pomona Police Department Sgt. Christian Hsu said officers extinguished the fire and reached in the cab to find Sedano alive but unresponsive.

Officer R. Betancourt pulled the man out of the vehicle with help from Officer T. Johnson, Hsu told City News Service.

Hsu said the vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire.

Sedano's condition remained unknown at press time.
