Disney Heir Impersonator Arrested For Allegedly Passing Off Stolen Theme Park Tickets

VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — A 51-year-old man allegedly pretending to be a Walt Disney heir was arrested earlier this week for passing off stolen Disneyland tickets.

Stephen David Urquidez of Canyon Country was taken into custody Tuesday on felony burglary charges. He was also in possession of a driver's license containing a forged state seal.

Urquidez later posted a $20,000 bond and was released.

On Jan. 21, a 40-year-old college student said the suspect, who identified himself as "Stephen Disney," gave her passes to Disneyland to use for a nonprofit organization's raffle.

The winner of the raffle took the passes to the Anaheim theme park and found out the tickets had not been activated.

An investigation later revealed Urquidez reportedly nabbed the passes from a retail business.

Authorities said the suspect also used a fake driver's license in the name of "Stephen Disney" and had bogus W-2 tax forms showing income from the Walt Disney Corporation.

The Walt Disney Corporation confirmed Urquidez had no affiliation to either the corporation or the Disney family.

KCAL9's Juan Fernandez spoke exclusively to the suspect Wednesday night outside his Canyon Country home.

"Somebody lived here before me named Disney. They're confusing me with someone else," Urquidez said. "I'm Stephen Urquidez. I don't know Stephen Disney."

Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station believe Urquidez may have duped other victims.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to contact Det. Elliott at (661) 255-1121 or LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
