LAPD Officer Charged With Molesting 2 Girls

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles police officer was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday for allegedly molesting two young girls.

Miguel Schiappapietra, 28, has been charged with two felony counts of committing lewd acts with a child under 14 years old.

The a six-year veteran of the LAPD was off duty when he was arrested Saturday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Authorities say earlier that day, Schiappapietra lured the two minors to his Castaic home, where he sexually assaulted them.

Authorities said the girls lived in the same neighborhood as the suspect.

Schiappapietra was booked at the LASD's Santa Clarita Valley Station where  he is being held on $100,000 bail.
