Hiker, 59, Missing In San Bernardino Mountains For 3rd Day

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — A 59-year-old hiker is missing somewhere in the Big Bear area of the San Bernardino Mountains.

The hiker went into the woods with a friend on Tuesday -- he came out and she didn't.

KCAL9's Adrianna Weingold reported from Running Springs with details about the missing woman and what authorities are doing to find her.

Bruce Jackson says he and his friend Karen Dalman went on a day hike but got separated when he went to chase after his dog.

She's been missing for three days. The two set out for a day hike to do mineral mining. Jackson had also been missing but he turned up at home Thursday morning. That is when he called 911, according to authorities.

He told authorities the couple had no cell phone and no supplies. He also said they were traveling in very rough terrain.

Dahlman is described as 5 feet 2 inches, 125 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and Capri pants and sneakers.

If you have seen Dalman or know her whereabouts, you're asked to call San Bernardino Sheriff's.
