Irvine Boy, 4, Revived After Nearly Drowning In Community Pool

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — A 4-year-old boy was revived by paramedics on the way to the hospital Tuesday after nearly drowning in a community pool.

Paramedics were called to 42 Clocktower in Irvine just after 5 p.m.

Orange County Fire Authority Captain Jon Muir said a bystander pulled the boy out of the pool and failed to revive him.

Paramedics successfully got the child breathing on the way to Hoag Hospital Irvine.

Muir described the boy's prognosis as "good".

A warning is also being issued to residents about the dangers posed to children unattended around pools.

A 6-year-old boy and a 37-year-old woman and nearly drowned in separate incidents last weekend, Muir said.
