Lake Forest Man Accused Of Assaulting 3 Girls Under 10

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — The Orange County District Attorney's Office (OCDA) and the Orange County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) are seeking the public's help in locating a fugitive charged with sexually assaulting three girls under the age of 10.

Jesus Gomez Montes, 34, of Lake Forest, is charged with one felony count of sexual intercourse with a child 10 years or younger, and seven felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, with sentencing allegations for having more than one victim and substantial sexual conduct with a child.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 130 years to life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. A $1 million warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Between 2002 and 2005, Montes reportedly lived in at least two multi-bedroom homes in Lake Forest, which were shared by multiple families, according to investigators.

The defendant is accused of gaining access to his alleged victims while living in the homes.

In April 2013, Jane Doe #3 told a school counselor about the sexual assault, which occurred a decade earlier.

The school immediately contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Department (OCSD), which launched a criminal investigation. In the course of its investigation, OCSD identified Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2 as additional victims.

Montes was described as a Hispanic male, 5'7'' tall, 170 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a 2004 gold Nissan Murano with California license plate 6PWE354.

Investigators believe Montes may be in the south Orange County area, including Laguna Beach and Lake Forest. He also has relatives in Riverside County.

If convicted, Montes' lifetime sex offender registration would bar him from entering county recreational areas and city parks that have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance.

Any additional victims or anyone with information about Montes' whereabouts was encouraged to contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Lou Gutierrez at (714)347-8794 or leave an anonymous tip with Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855)TIP-OCCS.
