Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation Of Middle School In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a Pomona middle school Monday, district officials said.

The threat against Palomares Academy of Health Sciences, 2211 N. Orange Grove Ave., was made around 9:15 a.m.

Local police swept the campus, but failed to find any suspicious packages during a preliminary search.

The school's approximately 425 students and staff members were evacuated from the campus and taken to Pomona High School, 475 Bangor St., Pomona Unified School District officials said.

Palomares Academy parents were required to show identification in order to pick up their children at the high school.
