Orange County Beaches Draw Crowds Escaping The Heat

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Temperatures in the 80s and 90s at Orange County beaches on Friday drew residents looking to cool off and escape the inland heat.

"Redlands is really hot today," said Rebecca Pedersen.

"We thought we'd escape and come to Aliso Beach where it's a little bit cooler, definitely more refreshing and by the ocean."

At the Newport Pier, 2-year-old drumming sensation Landon Goldberg, together with his dad and younger brother, showcased his act for the crowds.

"The more the better, he loves the big crowds," said Landon's father, Donny Goldberg.

"So we thought no place better than Newport Pier to come down and rock out."

Longtime Huntington Beach vendor Mike Ali said busy season is ramping up.

Spring break just wrapped up, and  "from now on in the next 2 weeks are college graduation, high schools come in, memorial day is around the corner," said Ali. "This is our season."
