Sheriff's Deputy Dragged After Traffic Stop In Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A Riverside County Sheriff's deputy was injured Thursday after attempting to detain two suspected drug users before they drove off with the deputy hanging onto their vehicle.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:55 a.m. after the deputy made a traffic stop at Cottonwood Avenue and Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley.
Sheriff's deputies along with the California Highway Patrol and Riverside police were in pursuit of the suspects along the Riverside (91) Freeway toward Corona.
One suspect attempted to flee on foot and was arrested at Brockton and Main avenues in Riverside. A second suspect was still believed to be outstanding.
There was no immediate information on the condition of the injured deputy, but Riverside County Sheriff's officials said he may have hurt his leg.
