The incident took place outside a horse corral in the 500 block of 6th Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies received the call around 2 p.m. to investigate reports that a man was harassing a child, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Manning.

The victim, whose name has not been released, alleged that Carrillo grabbed and held onto him.

The child was able to wriggle free and get away, at which point the suspect fled the area.

Carrillo was located quickly, however, and questioned, Manning said.

“Based upon the suspect’s demeanor and actions, (he) seemed to be motivated by an abnormal interest in the juvenile,” Sgt. Manning said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
