Bob Hope Memorabilia On Sale This Weekend

TOLUCA LAKE (CBSLA.com) — Fans of Bob Hope will have a chance to own a piece of the entertainer's history at a memorabilia sale this weekend in North Hollywood, with proceeds going to needy families.

Linda Hope, the eldest daughter of Bob and Dolores Hope, offered CBS2's Rob Schmitt a sneak peek at some of the items for sale on Wednesday. Among those up for sale are some of Hope's golf clubs, including a putter that will go for $75, and an engraved wallet that was a gift to the entertainer, for $200.

Another item for sale: a $1200 silverware set that Hope picked up in Thailand, on the way home from entertaining troops in Vietnam. Select artwork from the family's collection will also be available for purchase.

Linda Hope says the memorabilia gives fans "a little chance to have things to remember both of my parents by."

The Hope family first held a sale at their Toluca Lake home in December. Though it was originally described as an effort to clean out the family's garage, fans flocked to the memorabilia, with everything sold in two hours. A third sale by Julian's Auctions is planned for later this year, featuring more high-end items.

According to Linda Hope, the family is also planning to sell the 6-acre estate in Toluca Lake later in the year.

This weekend's sale will be held this Saturday and Sunday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in North Hollywood.
