Man Stabbed To Death In Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they found a man fatally stabbed early Saturday in Hawthorne.

Police were called to the 12500 block of South Cranbrook Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. with a stabbing report, according to Deputy Don Walker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department.

Officers arrived to find a man lying in a stairwell with stab wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not yet been determined by the L.A. County Coroner's Office.

Anyone with any information was asked to call the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Witnesses told CBS2's Louisa Hodge the man was stabbed by what looked like a small sword.

They said the man was killed while in the stairwell and the scene was described as "gruesome."
