Teen Boy Pistol Whipped In Toluca Lake Home Invasion Robbery

TOLUCA LAKE (CBSLA.com) — A 16-year-old boy was pistol whipped early Wednesday morning during a home invasion robbery in the San Fernando Valley.

The robbery was reported around 1:45 a.m. at 18 Toluca Estates Drive, near the Lakeside Golf Club, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Three armed men reportedly entered the home through an upstairs window and tied up a man, a woman and their teenage son, according to officials.

The robbers stole primarily jewelry before pistol whipping the boy and fleeing the home.

The suspect tripped an alarm upon leaving which alerted authorities, police said.

"We spoke to the neighbors, and as far as I know, none of the neighbors saw anything. We have some good leads," Dan Fournier of the LAPD said.

The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

A suspect description was not released. It was unclear why the home was targeted by the robbers.
