Dodgers Place Billingsley On 15-Day DL

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday placed right-handed pitcher Chad Billingsley on the 15-day disabled list.

Billingsley has right elbow pain. He was placed on the list retroactive to April 16.

Stephen Fife, recalled from Triple A, started Sunday's game in Baltimore. In 2012, Fife made five starts with the Dodgers, going 0-2 with a 2.70 ERA and a .255 opponents' batting average. In three starts with the Isotopes this season, the 26-year-old is 1-1 with a 4.61 ERA and 14 strikeouts.

Billingsley is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts this season. The Dodgers are understandably concerned -- Billingsley ended 2012 on the DL with soreness in the same elbow.

Dodgers' hurlers have been decimated by injuries. Zach Greinke will be out another 7-8 weeks with a broken collarbone, Ted Lilly is recovering from left shoulder surgery and Chris Capuano is nursing a ledt calf strain.
