Registered Sex Offender Convicted Of Sexual Assaulting Boy He Met On Facebook

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A registered sex offender has been convicted in the sex assault of a boy he first became acquainted with on Facebook, the Orange County District Attorney's office announced Friday.

Chris Glen Phernambucq of Anaheim was immediately sentenced to six years in state prison after entering a guilty plea to multiple felony counts and one misdemeanor.

Those counts included but were not limited to charges of contacting a child with the intent to commit oral copulation and possessing child porn with prior convictions for possession.

Phernambucq has prior convictions that include using a minor to create child porn and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, the department statement said.

The statement said the defendant and the minor first met on the social networking site in December 2012. The pair then met in person the following month.
