Kobe Bryant Convinced He Suffered Torn Achilles In Friday's Game, Likely Out For Season

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - The Los Angeles Lakers have announced via Twitter that Kobe Bryant has suffered a possible torn Achilles in Friday night's game against the Golden State Warriors.

With three minutes left and the game tied at 107, the guard fell to the ground and stayed down after attempting a move he's made a million times.

"Yeah," an emotional Bryant said after asked by John Ireland if he thought he tore his Achilles tendon. "It felt like I got kicked. It popped....it's a freak situation."

The NBA All-Star will undergo an MRI Saturday to confirm the injury.

The 34-year-old has been averaging over 45 minutes per game in his last six games.

The Lakers have two games left in the season. They're currently ahead of the Utah Jazz by one game for the final spot of the playoffs.
