Police Searching For Second Suspect In Beverly Hills Robbery

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Local police departments are cooperating in a multi-agency hunt after two burglars were spotted during a robbery in a well known neighborhood of Beverly Hills.

The neighborhood, near La Atura Road and Doheny Road, includes the houses of many celebrities, including Tom Cruise.

The burglars were spotted carrying duffel bags by a neighbor at 1111 Calle Vista Dr., and police responded to the call shortly after 5 p.m. Authorities were able to catch one of the two suspects shortly after.

The LAPD search continues for the second suspect, including the aid of law enforcement from UCLA, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood.

As of yet, La Atura Rd. and Schuyler Rd. are the only two streets currently closed. Sunset Blvd. is not affected, but only residents with proper identification are being allowed in the neighborhood.

Police have instructed residents to stay indoors, according to Beverly Hills Police Department Sergeant Renato Moreno.

The suspect who did escape arrest has been described as a thin man wearing dark clothing and a hat that covers his ears.

Beverly Hills police announced shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday via Twitter that they had called off their search in the area, believing the suspect may be in another neighborhood.
