Boy, 5, Struck By Car On Arrow Highway In Irwindale

IRWINDALE (CBSLA.com) — A 5-year-old boy Friday was struck by a car on Arrow Highway in Irwindale.

The child, who was hit east of the 605 Freeway around 1:35 p.m., was being airlifted to Children's Hospital Los Angeles, according to police.

His condition was not immediately available, but initial reports said he flew as far as 30 feet after being hit.

It was unclear why the boy was on the busy road, which has been partially closed while officials investigate the crash.

No other details were immediately released.
