WB 10 Freeway In Fontana Reopens After Big Rigs Clash With Bridge

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — The westbound 10 Freeway in Fontana was closed for hours Thursday night after two big rigs struck a bridge.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the Citrus Avenue overpass, which was under construction at the time.

"We had two trucks pulling trailers come through here with heavy equipment on the back. The first truck struck the bridge and flipped one of the beams at the Citrus Avenue interchange. The second truck then struck another beam," said Terri Kasinga of the California Highway Patrol.

No injuries were reported, even though debris from the incident came down onto the freeway.

The blocked off lanes on the westbound I-10 were reopened around 8 p.m.
