LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department Monday announced an arrest in the kidnapping of a 10-year-old Northridge girl.

The department’s media relations office confirms Daniel Martinez, 29, of West Hills, has been arrested in the nearly 12-hour abduction of the girl, who was taken from her home in the early morning hours of March 27.

After nearly 12 hours, the girl was found wandering around a Starbucks parking lot barefoot.

Martinez was arrested Sunday in the 18200 block of Rayen Street in Northridge, according to the LAPD.

The department has also named Tobias Summers — who was released from prison last July as part of a realignment program that eased overcrowding — as a suspect.

Summers, who has previously been charged with kidnapping, could be in the San Diego area. Authorities say he may have shaved his head in an attempt to change his appearance.
