Playboy's Christa Speck, 70, Dies In Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former Playboy Playmate, who later married television producer Marty Krofft, has died in Los Angeles of natural causes at age 70.

Family spokesman Christoph Buerger says Christa Speck died March 22, at home.

Speck, a model and actress, was named Playboy's "Playmate of the Month" in September 1961, and "Playmate of the Year" in 1962.

German-born Speck was discovered by Playboy while working as a secretary at Bank of America. She was a Playboy Bunny at Hugh Hefner's Chicago nightclub and lived at the Playboy Mansion. She appeared in many pictorials.

She is survived by her husband, the producer of "H.R. Pufnstuf," and their three daughters.

The family said in a statement that she was the rare sort of person who didn't judge others and saw good in everyone.
